The choice to attend an arts school can be a very difficult one. You may be constantly hearing from people around you that you just need to go to a “nice, normal school” or people may tell you that arts schools aren’t “real schools”.
Truthfully, accredited arts schools give you the same bachelors degree that you might get from a “traditional” college or university. The only real difference is that it not only can mean more to future employers but it means that you spent those four years really and truly honing your craft. While liberal arts and science credits are mandatory at arts colleges, those courses tend to be easier and you don’t usually need as many credits of them as say, a theatre or arts major at the University of Such-and-Such. Going in, you have to make sure that you are fully committed to your craft because you will be fully immersed in it for the next four years.
