My senior year was the best year of high school, especially the second half of the year. I decided I wanted to end that chapter of my life well and make it something I’d remember for years to come. It’s important to make your senior year the best it can be since you can never relive it and it can be the best time of your life. Here are a few things I did that you can do to make the rest of your senior year the best few months that they can be.
Make a bucket list
I made a list of things I wanted to do before my senior year ended. I wanted to accomplish certain things before I graduated to make sure I was making the most out of the last few months I had in high school. I did new things that I wouldn’t typically have done to be able to remember that year. As the days went by faster, it was important to make each day important. I am able to look back at those last few months of that year and remember all of the things I did. It also helps to make each thing you did special because it’ll remind you of that last part of high school. You can get your friends together to help you get your bucket list done which will create memories and bring you closer together.
Expand your friend group
During my senior year mostly everyone got along. Everything from the last few years seemed to be forgotten and we all became friends. Everyone started to realize that this was the last time we would all be together and might have been the last time we saw everyone. I became friends with people I grew apart from and it helped make my senior year even better. It’s important to get along with the people you have a lot of classes with and see every day. It not only made each day better, but also the end of the year events. We all bonded and were able to share the moments together that we will remember years after.
Throughout high school I rarely went to things like dances or football games. When I was a senior I decided to start going to events because it was the last chance I had to ever go and I wanted to make memories. These events also allowed me to make new friends, ones that lasted for years after high school. I attended prom for the first time my senior year and it was one of the best memories I have. Whenever I think back to high school it is the first thing I think about. I went with a large group of friends and we took a lot of pictures that captured the best moments of that night.
After we had a bonfire where we all sat around and bonded through stories and inside jokes. It was a great way to end the year and be together. My school had a senior trip, a senior picnic and a senior all night event that was after graduation. Not everyone attended these, but I am happy I did. It was the last time we could all be together, even my closest friends. These events made the second half of my senior year unforgettable.
Spend time with friends
The best memories I have of high school are because of my close friends. Our friendship was strengthened during my senior year because we started hanging out more. Even having homework nights were fun because we knew it was some of the last times we were going to be able to hang out together before we all left for college. We would all go out to dinner almost once a week and try to go to a new movie once a month to be able to spend time together. It was difficult to balance hanging out with friends and school, but it is valuable to do it. The friendships that were built during my last few months of high school were the strongest ones I’ve ever had and I always look back at those times whenever I want to be happy.
I am thankful I took the time my senior year to be with my friends and do new things with them. It made the ending of my senior year the best it could be.
