Everyone has their own academic interests, and surely there are people who would rather not take a math or arts class in high school if they didn’t have to. While some schools offer electives, the reality is that there’s not a lot you can do to avoid core subjects. So the next time you find yourself slumped over your desk due to boredom and frustration, why not try to make jokes and puns that will brighten up your mood and help you remember *some* information?
Take a look at these jokes and puns that I have actually used to study for tests and quizzes. (Please also keep in mind that not everybody takes these subjects and that I have a very bad sense of humor, so some of the jokes might just end up confusing you instead of making you laugh.)
There’s a Bill Cosby version of this, but I’d really rather not use it.
Try making jokes like this when you can’t remember how to categorize numbers! There have been real-life situations in my math class in which people were off by one or two marks just because they passed this lesson off as common knowledge and didn’t remember which types of numbers were real and non-real.
This one is for when you really have a hard time remembering everyone’s names in The Great Gatsby.
A fool-proof way for you to check just how familiar you are with Sylvia’s verse.
I actually made this one myself. Get ready to cringe!

A great way to learn new words and an even better excuse to use on your teacher…
The graphic design is what really sells this one for me…

You can stop cringing now. These puns might be entertaining, but don’t use them for serious studying! Puns and jokes should help you remember small bits of information that would be difficult to remember otherwise. Their main purpose is really to lighten your mood and help you cultivate a more positive attitude while studying subjects that you’d really rather not have to deal with. Remember that while you can’t change your schedule, you can change your attitude! And the best way to do this is by making bad (but educational) jokes about the subject matter.
Who knew that studying could be so much pun
