Welcome to The Stack, a dumping pile of all things going on in college media this week. It’s all here: cool stories, heartbreaking tragedies, weird college debacles, and collegiate trends. Read up, peeps.
Disclaimer: The now-defunct Paper Trail (may it rest in eternal, peaceful slumber) serves as inspiration for The Stack. Love us some college news (and Jeff Greer, you’re awesome!).
Right now in college news:
USA TODAY College reports that the age-old debate over whether calling a football team the “Redskins” is insensitive and racist lives on.
Due to former student Angie Epifano’s published rape account a couple months back, Amherst College ran an investigation showing that Amherst’s sexual assault response is “inadequate”. On a lighter note, yes, Amherst’s president’s first name is in fact Biddy.
The Indiana Daily Student published an interesting piece on the lack of diversity at Indiana University, a problem at universities across America.
Utah Valley University accidentally told the wrong students that they had received full scholarships to the college, and then had to alert them of the error (and take the money back). Can you say mad awk?
